The Grande Gathering Gala

The Grande Gathering Gala was first fundraising gala held by the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre. Supported by Hammerhead Resources, it hosted CCMA and Indigenous Country Artist of the Year, Jason Benoit with other headliners like Brianna Lizotte and Lance Cardinal as Emcee. 
I was did the live painting portion of the night, painting a 20x40” white birch piece. The colours that are showing through the birch bark are the reminders of our ancestors that walked before us and we hold their stories with us. And the red symbolizes the Murdered and Missing Indigenous women, honouring and remembering

The painting sold at auction for a staggering $15,000 with the grand total of the night being over $131,000!!!
